Terms of Service

Effective date: June 2026. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of The Urban Health Exchange at theurbanxchange.com (the "Site"). By accessing, browsing or otherwise using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use after a revision means you accept the change.

1. What this site is

The Urban Health Exchange is an independent editorial resource and equipping guide for healthcare delivered in high-density urban environments. We publish guides, briefs and reference material for community-clinic operators, street-medicine and outreach teams, mobile-health-unit coordinators, urban EMS planners, harm-reduction program staff and public-health buyers. Everything here is written to help people who equip and run city-based care make better-informed decisions under real constraints of square-footage, budget and time.

2. Informational and educational use only — not advice

This is the most important clause on the page, so read it twice. All content on the Site is provided for general informational and educational purposes only. It is not, and must never be treated as:

  • Clinical or medical advice. Nothing here is a substitute for the judgment of a licensed clinician, your medical director, or your organization's standing orders and protocols. Do not use our guides to diagnose, treat or make patient-care decisions.
  • Regulatory, legal or compliance advice. Requirements for licensing, controlled substances, sharps disposal, vehicle outfitting, scope of practice, and program operation vary by jurisdiction and change over time. Verify everything against current federal, state and local rules and your own counsel before acting.
  • Purchasing, procurement or financial advice. Our equipment write-ups describe trade-offs as we understand them; they are not a recommendation to buy any particular item, and they do not account for your specific budget, contracts, grant terms or operational context.

You are solely responsible for evaluating the suitability, safety, legality and fitness-for-purpose of anything you read here before applying it in the field. Always defer to qualified professionals, manufacturer instructions, and your governing authorities.

3. No vendor endorsement

The Urban Health Exchange is editorially independent. We endorse no specific vendor, manufacturer, brand, product or service. Where we name a category of equipment, a feature set, or a type of supply, we do so to illustrate the considerations an operator should weigh — not to steer you toward a particular seller. Any resemblance between our descriptions and a specific commercial offering does not imply a partnership, sponsorship, affiliation or recommendation. We do not accept payment to feature products favorably, and we do not present paid placement as editorial coverage.

4. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise noted, all content on the Site — including text, original guides, briefs, graphics, illustrations, photographs, logos, the name "The Urban Health Exchange," the tagline "Equipping the people who care for the city," page layouts, and the selection and arrangement of all of the foregoing — is original work owned by or licensed to the operators of this Site and is protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual-property laws.

You may view, download and print individual pages for your own non-commercial, internal program use — for example, sharing a guide with your outreach team or referencing it in planning — provided you do not remove any copyright or attribution notices. You may not republish, redistribute, sell, scrape, mirror, or create derivative works from our content, or use it to train automated models, without our prior written permission. Brief quotation with clear attribution and a link back to the source page is welcome.

5. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Site lawfully and not to: attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site or its systems; interfere with or disrupt the Site's operation; deploy automated tools to harvest content at scale; misrepresent the Site's content as your own or as professional advice you are qualified to give; or use the Site in any way that could harm, disable or impair it for others.

6. Third-party links and references

The Site may reference external standards, agencies or resources. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, accuracy or availability of any third-party material, and a reference is not an endorsement of that source.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The Site and all content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, current, or that any information is suitable for your specific situation.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Urban Health Exchange and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss arising out of or related to your use of — or inability to use — the Site or any content on it, including any decision you make in reliance on it. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the maximum extent the law allows.

9. Changes to the site and these terms

We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Site at any time without notice. We may also revise these Terms; the "effective date" above reflects the most recent version. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
